【摘要】:TheAEexaminationmethoddetectsstructurallysignificantflawsinFRPstructuresviatestloading.ThedamagemechanismsthataredetectedinFRPincluderesincracking,fiberdebonding,fiberpullout,fiberbreakage,delamination,andsecondarybondfailure.FlawsinunstressedareaswillnotgeneratedetectableAE.FlawslocatedwithAEmaybeexaminedbyothermethods.1.1Thispracticeprovidesguidelinesforacousticemission(AE)examinationsoffiberglassreinforcedplastic(FRP)fanbladesofthetypeusedinindustrialcoolingtowersandheatexchangers.1.2Thispracticeusessimulatedserviceloadingtodeterminestructuralintegrity.1.3Thispracticewilldetectsourcesofacousticemissioninareasofsensorcoveragethatarestressedduringthecourseoftheexamination.1.4Thispracticeappliestoexaminationsofnewandin-servicefanblades.1.5ThispracticeislimitedtofanbladesofFRPconstruction,withlength(hubcenterlinetotip)oflessthan3m[10ft],andwithfiberglasscontentgreaterthan15%byweight.1.6AEmeasurementsareusedtodetectemissionsources.Othernondestructiveexamination(NDE)methodsmaybeusedtoevaluatethesignificanceofAEsources.ProceduresforotherNDEmethodsarebeyondthescopeofthispractice.1.7Units8212;ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
