【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsfor,andguidanceon,theinvestigationoflandpotentiallyaffectedbycontaminationandlandwithnaturallyelevatedconcentrationsofpotentiallyharmfulsubstances,todetermineormanageanyrisks.Itcovers:a)settingtheobjectivesofaninvestigation;b)developingastrategyfortheinvestigation;c)designingthedifferentphasesoftheinvestigation;d)samplingandfieldtesting;e)laboratoryanalysis;f)reporting,inordertoobtainscientificallyrobustdataonsoil,groundwater,surfacewaterandgroundgascontamination.Itisintendedforusebythosewithanunderstandingoftherisk?basedapproachtotheassessmentofsites(asdescribedintheModelProceduresfortheManagementofLandContamination(CLR11)[31]).Therelevantrecommendationsandguidancewithinthisstandardareintendedtoensurethattheobjectivesofaninvestigationareachievedandthatappropriatedatafortheriskassessmentareobtained.However,itisnotfeasibletoprovidedetailedguidanceforeverypossibleinvestigationscenario.ThisBritishStandarddoesnotgive:1)guidanceoncertainconstraintsorproblemsthatcanaffectasite,suchasgeotechnicalaspects(whicharecoveredbyBS5930);2)guidanceonlegalaspects,includingtheneedforlicencesandpermits,etc.;3)detailedguidancefortheinvestigationandassessmentofradioactivelycontaminatedsites(seeNote1);4)proceduresfortheformalassessmentofthepotentialrisksposedbylandpotentiallyaffectedbycontamination(seeNote2);5)guidanceonsamplingfromstockpiles(seeNote3).NOTE1GuidanceontheinvestigationandassessmentofradioactivityinsoilsisgivenintheBSISO18589series.Theappropriatemethodologyforsuchworkswillbedependentonthenatureofthecontaminationandthesiteconditionsandoughttobediscussedwiththeregulatorinadvance.NOTE2SeetheguidancepublishedbyDefraandtheEnvironmentAgencyinCLR11[31].NOTE3GuidanceonsamplingstockpilesisgiveninISO10381-8andBS?ISO18283.Whenrelevant,thisstandardistobeusedinconjunctionwithotherstandardsandcodesofpractice,forexample,BS5930forinvestigationsforcivilengineeringpurposes.
